I'm Mukund, a Ph.D. student with a deep passion for understanding the principles and decoding the processes that govern the workings of the cosmos.
My primary research interest presently focuses on:
Development and optimization of Novel cryogenic detectors using NaI scintillating crystals for the direct detection of dark matter.
You can find more about my technical skills, interests, and experience in the Skills section while I go into more detail about the various projects I've carried out in the Research section. For help and information regarding various topics, I've compiled a list of all the resources I personally used and hope it may help you too:)
Hobbies and other Interests
Originally kicked off by the invention of Ernö Rubik, a professor of architecture in 1974, speedcubing is among my favourite pass time hobbies! Spending endless hours on end trying to perfect my CFOP method and learning the slight variations to solve the 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, pyramix, and skewb cubes.
Some of my personal bests include a sub-30 second solve of the 3x3 and a sub-10 second of the 2x2.
Originally started off by my grandfather and continued by my father (and now me :D), collecting vintage stamps is sort of like reading a mini history lesson behind the release of every stamp release. Presently, I maintain a comprehensive collection of Indian Stamps and First Day Covers Post Independence. Additionally, I also have a vast array of stamps from neighbouring countries as well.
As a child, I used to hate going out ( still do sometimes), but as time progressed I've come to learn that visiting new places, engaging and interacting with local cultures that are very different from my own almost always helps provide a fresh new perspective of life.
And of course, adapting to new and foreign places without feeling overwhelmed is a life skill that I'm sure is going to come in handy, and well, the best way to sharpen this tool is to travel :)
